IOF Opens Fire at Palestinian Fishermen and Injures One in Northern Gaza

At approximately 2:30 pm on Monday 26 May 2014, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire at a group of fishing lovers who were in Beit Lahiya beach near the borders. As a result, Imad Shokri Salim, 51, resident of Beit Lahiya in North Gaza district, sustained two bullets wounds in his right leg and in the right side of the back. Medical sources at Kamal Odwan hospital described his injury as critical. He is staying in the hospital in the intensive care unit. According to Al Mezan’s filed investigations, the fisherman was fishing using his hook when he was being shot by Israeli forces that were stationed in the observation towers. The shooting forced fishermen to leave the area fearing for their lives.

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces shot and injured a Palestinian man in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, a ministry spokesman and medics told Ma'an.

Ashraf al-Qidra, Gaza's health ministry spokesman, said that Israeli naval forces shot a Palestinian man in the hand and the back, moderately injuring him.

Medics identified the man as 52-year-old Imad Shukri Salim, and told Ma'an that he had been taken to Kamal Adwan hospital for treatment.

An Israeli military spokeswoman did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Palestinian citizen wounded in Israeli navy shooting

GAZA, (PIC)-- Israeli navy gunboats fired at the northern Gaza Strip shores at noon Monday injuring a citizen, medical sources reported.
Dr. Ashraf al-Qudra, the health ministry spokesman, told the PIC reporter that a 24-year-old man was moderately wounded in the shooting.
He added that the victim was transferred to hospital where doctors said that he suffered bullets wounds in his hand and back.
